How to read the Hangul

  • Bold, larger (ˈ) = say it strong and a little longer — the stressed syllable.
  • Faint = weak and short (a reduced vowel). Don't give every syllable equal weight.
  • Tiny 으 · 트 · 스 = barely voiced. English has no vowel there — stop on the consonant.
  • Whole word faint (the, of, and, to…) = light and quick in a sentence; stress the content words.
  • Small f v θ ð r = sounds Korean doesn't have — f: upper teeth on the lower lip; v: the same, voiced; θ/ð: tongue tip between the teeth; r: tongue curled back, touching nothing.

    Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, sur toi, Baruc:

    ты говоришь: „горе мне! ибо Господь приложил скорбь к болезни моей;я изнемог от вздохов моих, и не нахожу покоя".

    Tu dis: Malheur à moi! car l'Éternel ajoute le chagrin à ma douleur; je m'épuise en soupirant, et je ne trouve point de repos.

    Так скажи ему: так говорит Господь: вот, что Я построил, разрушу, и что насадил, искореню, – всю эту землю.

    Dis-lui: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, ce que j'ai bâti, je le détruirai; ce que j'ai planté, je l'arracherai, savoir tout ce pays.

    А ты просишь себе великого: не проси; ибо вот, Я наведу бедствие навсякую плоть, говорит Господь, а тебе вместо добычи оставлю душу твою во всех местах, куда ни пойдешь.

    Et toi, rechercherais-tu de grandes choses? Ne les recherche pas! Car voici, je vais faire venir le malheur sur toute chair, dit l'Éternel; et je te donnerai ta vie pour butin, dans tous les lieux où tu iras.
