Psalms 129
Psalms 129How to read the Hangul
beginning the Christ salvation
- Bold, larger (ˈ) = say it strong and a little longer — the stressed syllable.
- Faint = weak and short (a reduced vowel). Don't give every syllable equal weight.
- Tiny 으 · 트 · 스 = barely voiced. English has no vowel there — stop on the consonant.
- Whole word faint (the, of, and, to…) = light and quick in a sentence; stress the content words.
- Small f v θ ð r = sounds Korean doesn't have — f: upper teeth on the lower lip; v: the same, voiced; θ/ð: tongue tip between the teeth; r: tongue curled back, touching nothing.

A Song of degrees. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
ترنيمة المصاعد. كثيرا ما ضايقوني منذ شبابي ليقل اسرائيل
Cantique des degrés. Ils m'ont assez opprimé dès ma jeunesse, Qu'Israël le dise!

2
Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
كثيرا ما ضايقوني منذ شبابي. لكن لم يقدروا عليّ.
Ils m'ont assez opprimé dès ma jeunesse, Mais ils ne m'ont pas vaincu.

The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
على ظهري حرث الحرّاث. طوّلوا اتلامهم.

Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
فليخز وليرتد الى الوراء كل مبغضي صهيون.
Qu'ils soient confondus et qu'ils reculent, Tous ceux qui haïssent Sion!
-

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
ليكونوا كعشب السطوح الذي ييبس قبل ان يقلع.
Qu'ils soient comme l'herbe des toits, Qui sèche avant qu'on l'arrache!

Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
الذي لا يملأ الحاصد كفه منه ولا المحزم حضنه.
Le moissonneur n'en remplit point sa main, Celui qui lie les gerbes n'en charge point son bras,

Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
ولا يقول العابرون بركة الرب عليكم. باركناكم باسم الرب
Et les passants ne disent point: Que la bénédiction de l'Éternel soit sur vous! Nous vous bénissons au nom de l'Éternel!
